Groups

I have facilitated numerous psychotherapy and training groups, as well as taught group therapy and dynamics, in the U.S. and abroad. In addition to the groups I offer in my private practice (below) I also facilitate process-oriented training group for analytic candidates at the C.G. Jung Institute of Chicago and for mid-career group therapists for the American Group Psychotherapy Association. In recognition of my contributions to the field, I was elected a Fellow of the American Group Psychotherapy Association.

Forming Now: Groups for Therapists

Bilingual Clinical Consultation Group (online) | 中英文临床督导小组 (线上)

Every other Mondays 8:00-9:15 am Central Time

I have been training, supervising, and consulting to bilingual English/Mandarin clinicians in the U.S. and China for over 10 years. When I started my private practice in Chicago, I could count all of the city’s Mandarin/English bilingual therapists in private practice on one hand. I am also a former faculty and clinical supervisor for the China American Psychoanalytic Alliance (CAPA). I am experienced in supporting the professional growth of bilingual clinicians on both sides of the Pacific. Join this consultation group from anywhere and receive integrative consultation to facilitate your psychotherapy work through the following lenses: psychodynamic, group dynamics, Internal Family Systems (IFS), trauma, cross-cultural, leadership, improvisation/play, & the dynamics of addiction. I will likely speak predominantly in English, as that’s the language in which I’m trained.

通过以下多元视角的督导支持,深化您的心理治疗工作:精神动力学、小组动力学、内在家庭系统(IFS)、创伤、跨文化、领导学、即兴/游戏,以及成瘾的动力学。

Wednesdays noon-1:30 pm (in-person)

This group may be for you if you resonate with any of these goals: to have a space in which you can be emotionally held by the group and the facilitator, even as you are in the profession of holding space for others; to develop connections with other clinicians in what can be a lonely profession; to deepen self awareness as well as awareness of interpersonal and group-level dynamics; to explore the practice and integration of psychodynamic, IFS, 12-steps, improvisational, and clowning principles in clinical practice; to expand your capacities to navigate the complexities of group leadership as well as your confidence in taking up such a role; to uncover, explore, and work through your unconscious templates for leadership and authority; to earn a CGP (Certified Group Psychotherapist) credential. 1-3 screening/assessment/orientation sessions required. Group experience not required.

Current Therapy Group

Playing In Practice: All-Gender Therapy Group

Every other Monday 2:30-3:20 pm (in-person)

This trauma-informed therapy group integrates improvisation and clown (physical theater) with process-oriented group psychotherapy to deepen group members’ capacity to play, to be present, to be embodied, and to connect to themselves and to one another. Every group session begins with one brief improvisational, clown, or other meditative exercise designed to heighten awareness, facilitate group development, and deepen exploration of current goals. Members will have the remainder of the group session to examine their emotions, roles, and relationship patterns as they occur here-and-now.

$50 per group
